A round table conversation under the auspices of Ecooperation about the Bhutanese concept of development 'Gross National Happiness', as an alternative for the western concept of Gross National Product.
The Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan uses the term 'Gross National Happiness' as a guideline for its development.
Instead of taking the usual Gross National Product as a benchmark, the government tries to measure socio-economic development in terms of cultural preservation, environment, sustainable development and responsible governance.
Herewith Bhutan aims to preserve its cherished and long-held autonomy.
