The Confession

Psychological thriller about a murder, based upon a true story.

'After George has killed his wife Anne-Marie with 10 axe blows to the head, he dismembers her body, hides the pieces in the Belgian Ardennes and - to the police - reports his wife to be missing. The discovery of Anne-Marie's remains a few weeks later and the investigation into the true circumstances of the murder lead to staggering conclusions, including for the murderer: George appears to have been a helpless tool of his murdered wife'.‍

THE CONFESSION (working title) concerns a feature length fiction film based upon the story of Joop Van Wijk's
feature length documentary ANATOMY OF A MURDER about the murder of his wife's sister (see elsewhere on the site). During the research for this film, Van Wijk stumbled upon information that wasn't fit to be included in the documentary, in which he wanted to strictly stick to controllable facts.

THE CONFESSION digs deep into the motives of its main characters, perpetrator and victim.
Especially those of the latter.
